No more dreaming

...of white christmas. This year it actually happened! We were all very excited. And the snow is even still here! I can't remember the last time we had white christmas and it's been even longer than that since I last went skiing on christmas holidays.

This year I got two weeks of annual leave over christmas and new year. I was so lucky. And so happy too! At first I was planning to take the family to lapland to have white christmas and to go skiing. However I ditched that idea and I'm so glad we did since we got what we wanted anyway. We got snow and we got to ski without losing the little daylight we have down here in south. If anyone didn't know it's dark 24/7 around this time of year in lapland.

Santa was very generous this year to the whole family. Not only did I get my new stove/oven as a pre-christmas present we also got a new camera after christmas. A good one. So the chances are you'll be seeing a lot better pictures on this blog in the future. That is if I get to update it. Actually I will have more time for that too since as from January 1st I'll be working part time again. Woohoo! I'm so looking forward to that. And I'll get a 1,8% raise in the salary.

Here are some pictures with the old camera:

After we got our Christmas tree we simply could not stop Erno from decorating it. I had planned it to be a FHE activity in the evening, but when we got up in the morning Erno was already decorating the tree. There wasn't really much for us left to do.

Instead of decorating the Christmas tree I decided we should go out and have fun in the snow for FHE activity. So we built a big snow man and a snow lantern. The boys also made some snow angels.

In Finland the Santa Claus comes on Christmas eve. It's only logical since he lives in Finland so that's a place to start his big trip from, so he'll make it to other parts of the world for the 25th. Also in Finland he comes inside the house to give the presents and usually we sing to him. You should have seen the excitement when there was a knock on the door and the boys saw Santa from the window. Too bad we didn't get a shot of the looks on their faces. They were priceless. We spent the Christmas eve at my BIL's house, so there was a quite of few presents to give. Luckily the kids were very eager to help Santa.

Erno really, really loves costumes. He was so happy to get Darth Vader outfit for Christmas. For every birthday party he's been invited to he's got dressed up in a costume. He sure loves them. Sometimes he wears them at home too just for fun.

How lovely to have snow at Christmas. We had a little bit of rain and lots of sea breeze at my mum's in Qld., not quite as good as snow but it kept us all cooler. I love your snow man and snow lantern!

Happy New Year to you all!!
