Mother's Day

I woke up with kids and Teemu singing for me and bringing me cards/presents. They had cooked breakfast for me. Hash browns upon my request. After that we played "ticket to ride" with Teemu and Adiel.

There's a tradition in Finland to visit the graves on Christmas Eve. We've made it a tradition in our family to also visit the boys' grandmother's grave on Mother's Day

There's also a Mother's Day tradition in Finland created by the nature. It's called Valkovuokko in finnish. Anemone nemorosa in latin. Not sure what it is in English. They always, always bloom on Mother's Day so a lot of children pick up valkovuokkos for their mothers on Mother's Day. It's one of my favourite flowers.

This year I put some on my hair

Unfortunately they wither very fast, so in the end of the day, they didn't look very nice.

At church the brethren all (and I really mean ALL of them) sang "Home Can Be a Heaven on Earth". It was great. I thought it was fantastic that they got everyone to get up and sing. Loved it!

I also had a great conversation over the phone with my mum. The weather has been amazing and warm all day.

I don't know how my day could have been any better!

Life is great!
